New Year’s Resolutions – Do they actually work? Personally I know many people set goals/resolutions for the new year and time and time again they fail.
I think setting yourself a New Year’s resolution/goal at this time of year is only adding to the stress and pressure the some of you may have already experienced with Christmas.
I try to set goals throughout the year, and this year in particular I will do my best to reach those goals but over the whole year not in one week from the 1st January.
How do you set out to achieve your goals? How many do you actually fulfil? I know a lot of people who set a goal, reach it and then create another goal for themselves. This is a clever way as to not put too much pressure on yourself and it also enables you to work on one thing at a time.
Do you base your life on goals and achieving them or do you literally take each day as it comes? I would love to hear everyone’s opinion on this as I am sure they would be vastly varied. What sort of goal have you set for yourself for 2011? Do you make a list or just keep them to yourselves? Without setting goals for ourselves how do we increase our knowledge or improve on ourselves at all?
Many of my goals for 2011 are more wishes than goals I think. I have a lot of hopes for my family and friends which I think is just as important as setting goals for yourself.
I want to wish you all the very best for 2011, with or without goals or resolutions. I would sincerely love to hear from any of you in regards to your views on this.
Together we can make anything happen, Don’t you think?
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE !
Regardless of your goals and acheivements 2011 Is going to be the best year ever !!!

I love this time of year and spend this week in particular reflecting on the year just gone and setting my goals for the year ahead. This is a crucial part of my year as I need to have a plan to work towards or I just feel lost! I like to write My yearly goals down and put them in a nice format to refer back to throughout the year. At the beginning of each week I look at my list and decide what tasks I can do (no matter how small) that will move me closer to one or more of those goals. When they are broken down into small chunks like that, you are more likely to move towards them. I think our biggest problem sometimes is setting big goals and then getting overwhelmed by the enormity of them. Breaking it down gets around this.
ReplyDeleteGood luch with your goal setting everyone. Get excited about 2011 :)
